TELEPHONE CONSULTATIONS...

the quickest and easiest way to get help

If you want support, guidance and new ideas for your situation or relationship, picking up the phone can be quicker, easier and more comfortable than walking into an office building for a face-to-face appointment. You can be at home, at work or roaming with your cell phone. If you can't make it into the Counseling Office or you prefer the ease, comfort and privacy of the phone, then telephone consultations are for you.

3 Easy Steps:

Step 1.) Call the Counseling Office anytime, day or night, voice mail is always  on at 610-366-7774.  Leave your name, phone number, best times to return your call, and a message requesting a phone consultation. Or, email the same information to tomstrohl@aol.com.

Step 2.) Tom Strohl will return your call, schedule your consultation, and take  your master card or visa billing information. The consultation is billed to your credit card at the time the appointment is scheduled. You can choose a brief consultation (20-25 minutes at $60) or a full consultation (45-50 minutes at $120).

Step 3.) Tom Strohl will call you at the scheduled time for your consultation.  Because this time is reserved especially for you we cannot refund your money nor reschedule your consultation time. For this reason, it's extremely important that you make sure you are by your phone at the time you scheduled.

Follow-up appointments can be scheduled at the end of the

consultation, or you can call back at anytime to schedule another

            appointment.

MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR PHONE CONSULTATION:

                                       4 guidelines.

I want to help you make the most of your time on the phone, so here are 4 guidelines to follow:

1.) Start by telling me the reasons for the call. Give me the highlights of

the events that lead up to deciding you wanted professional advice.

2.) After I have the basic background, I'll want to know about your goals

for the call. What is it you're hoping to accomplish? And, what kind of

help do you want from me? This will help us focus the call and get

more specific. The more specific you can be about the places you

need help, what your goals are and what you want from me, the more

      help you'll get.

3.) Next, I will want to know what you've tried so far to resolve the

situation. And, did it have any effect at all, no effect, or made things

     worse?

4.) Now it will be time for us to brainstorm some new ideas and

approaches that hold hope to bring about positive change. The call will

wrap-up with a review of what we have discussed and any "Take-

Aways" from the consultation. "Take-Aways" are what you learned

from the call, any new ideas, approaches, plans, anything that you'll be

taking-away and putting into action to make your situation better. I

want you to leave the call feeling more focused and with direction.

However, in a first call it's common that you may not be sure what your goals are, what you want from me, or you may feel apprehensive about putting any plan into action too quickly. If that's your case, it's OK. You may need to vent your situation thoroughly before anything else can take place. Whatever your situation, don't worry. I will help you gain clarity and focus on the right places and offer suggestions about what to do next.

So, go ahead and call the Counseling Office and schedule your consultation. Then, jot down some notes following the guidelines I've given you to help focus the call, and I'll help you make the most of it.
